Honolulu has everyhing a tourist's heart desires. It is the center of art and culture of the island. You will find numerous museums and historic buildings. The royal palace is only a few blocks from Chinatown. There are a lot of bars and lounges, restaurants and art galleries.
A definite "must see" is the Bishop Museum with historical, cultural and natural resources information of Hawaii and the Pacific Rim and the loani Palace - the only royal palace on American soil, or the local art in the Hawaii State Museum. For more "modern" history, visit pearl harbour, or enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Koolau mountains from the Nuuanu Pali lookout point.
